Hi, my home is scheduled to have fumigation next week, gas used is Vikane.

I have various plants, some are roses along the foundation (1 feet away). I have trimmed it down to canes or the workers won't be able to work.

Now I also worry about 2 Japanese maples, buds are swelling, they are about 6-8 feet from the perimeter of the house. Are these in risk of getting killed by the fumes as well? I heard a good watering would prevent killing of these plants.

I have not had this done before, I don't have any time to move any plants, maybe I will erect a few stakes and make a plastic tent to shield the offensive sides from gas.

Yes, shield them however you can, the best you can.
