    . . . Is there a specific anatomical name for the tissue forming the "frilled" edge of the attached pod? The younger pod in the first picture doesn't have it - so must come in later. Thank you.

    They often use "fringed".

    Andrey - Thank you; have been trying to narrow down a Mimosa tree and thought that structure might help.
