I see many posts regarding IPM and such and I would like to clear up some terms regarding pests and their eliminating products.

    Herbicide: kills plants
    Insecticide: kills or repels insects
Molluscicide: kills or repels slugs and snails
    Avicide: kills or repels birds
    Rodenticide: kills or repels rodents
    Miticide: kills or repels mites
    fungicide: kills or deters fungus

Pesticide: kills or repels pests = ALL of the above.

    thank you!
i'm a beginning gardener, and would HATE to have used something that would have killed off the birds in the backyard.
it is important to post the "Things that seem simple". That is how people like me learn!
