Helo all! We planted a Pompas Grass plant a few years ago and love it , its huge( at the top of our drive )! So last spring , we lined the whole drive with 9 more about 10 feet apart. They grew to about 2-3 feet the first summer, no plumes though. Lats winter they where covered with about 5 feet of snow for a good month. In early spring, we cut them all down to about 10 inches, thinking this was the best idea, we did it with the one that we've had for years. They havent grown since........except now there are shoots coming up around the perimeter of all the, what look like, dead plants. I can tell they are dead because you can easily pick the old shoots out and they are wet and decaying at the "root" where it attaches to the plant. My question is, should I just let them be and grow like they are, or should I try and remove all the dead ,brown plant matter in the centers? I can post pics if necessary. Thanks, Dean Pics of my "dead" Pompas grass. Last pic is of my healthy PG plant!
