I live in SW FL. and i bought a tangerine tree 9 yrs ago plant it in my front yard (planty of sun) (facing south) about 10 feet in front of my house and so far in 8 yrs i got 1 tangerine 3 yrs ago thats it. The tree is about 12 feet tall now and not very large at all maybe 6 or 7 feet across nice green leave but nothing else
also i have a lemon tree maybe 15 feet east of it i planted at same time and its doing great its twice the size my tangerine tree and producing lemon almost all year round.

Any idea what could be wrong??? soil??? defect tree??? i dont know something aint right and dont have a clue

    Thx , Alain

Does it bloom? Do you know the actual variety?

There are some of the "tangelos" that need a pollenizer such as a minneola tangelo. However, there is a way around that-- you can spray the blooms with Giberellic acid (GA3 it is also called)-- it is a plant hormone that makes the tree think the flower has been pollinated. One added benefit to that method is the fruit is seedless.

I just did that with my Minneola, but the concentration of the spray is critical-- it has to be 10 ppm.
