I began tangerine trees, several pots - early this past spring from seeds.
I am wondering how many nodes are required before the first pruning. And where do I prune. Just lop the main?

They appear to be growing well but I notice some yellowing. Should I try iron or epson salts, and did I see that nitrogen should not be given?
I brought to pots in from outside yesterday. I am excitedly expectant :)

It sounds like your intent is to produce a tree with a clear trunk. Just prune off the main stem above the node where you want the branching to occur.

As for the yellowing, is it occurring in all the leaves? It's quite normal for the oldest leaves (i.e. those nearest the bottom) to appear that way before dropping off. It is also a symptom of a number of deficiencies so it depends on the nature of yellowing. I would feed the trees with a 5-1-3 NPK ratio fertilizer which contains micronutrients.
