    Hi,
I'm trying to identify this beauty. The few that have grown in my yard have gotten just over 5 feet tall. The stalk is very strong and woody and red, with fairly large dark green leaves. I've been trying to identify it for awhile now. The birds really enjoy the seeds, and it reseeds very easily. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks much! It does appear to be an Amaranthus, but not the "love lies bleeding" type. Looks more like a Amaranthus Hypochondriacus, but the description said reddish leaves, and these are clearly medium to dark green. Other than that, it matches very well. The birds must really like these seeds as these plants are springing up all over
my yard now, including between pavers! Really sets off the yard next to some Rudbeckia. Thanks again.
