In The Garden: Tall Purple Plant Identification

Can anyone help with the identification of the attached plant, it is in a container with a palm but we have no idea where it has come from, it looks a little like a delphinium?
Any information on this would be appreciated.

It is a beautiful orchid. Dactylorhiza sp. They are very difficult to id from pics, it is possible that as it has plain green leaves (not spotted) that it is Dactlorhiza elata.

As an aside, the "palm" isn't a palm, it is probably a Cordyline.

Michael F- You could be correct about the Cordyline, we bought them from Majorca on holiday as seeds and they were labeled as palms but anything is possible!
