Tall palm tree in Tofino, British Columbia

    Here's a tall Windmill palm growing in Tofino. Thanks to Ken Gibson of Tofino, BC. The palm is located at Donnybrook Estate (close to the building on photo -center). Garden visitors welcomed to see the giant Gunnera foliage, Rhodies, Eucs and the palm on the property.

    Here's another picture of this palm, taken in 1999 when it was about 8m (26') tall. It is now reaches over 10m (30') and is about 40 years old.
    There are several large palms in Mr. Ken Gibson's own garden as well (see second picture). His garden is often referred to as 'Tofino's Painted Mountain' and more images may be viewed here.
