I thought this was a conifer with scales until I looked more closely to see the deeply cut broad leaves. It's the tree in the centre of the first photo, in Stanley Park east of the Pitch & Putt. Oh, wait, I just found Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis' - Alder - in a paper on Cut-Leaf Trees - is that this? Never mind, I'm sure it is. Right where it's supposed to be. This would be easier if I could search my new booklet by location.
I recall various kinds of trees in this location being mentioned in Dr. Straley's Vancouver tree book.
