I have seen this tree planted in gardens, including in a city garden near the marina in Horseshoe Bay. Both times I've seen the tree it has been at least 10 feet tall. Any ideas? Thanks.

Magnolia denudata 'Yellow River' blooms on bare branches before it gets the leaves, so you can rule that one out.

One of the comparative few that appears repeatedly at outlets here that tree asked about looks like is 'Yellow Bird'. Don't know 'Yellow Fever' but if it produces yellow flowers then it would not be expected to be a pure M. denudata, should therefore not be listed as such.

Thanks for the feedback. My guess was some type of magnolia and it looks likes Yellow Bird is the winner!
