My Lilac tree looks troubled. Can anyone recognize the problem?
It was planted 13 yrs ago. It hasn't been limed in the last 8 months and it has no mulch.I feed it 6-8-6 every spring & fall at 1/2 dosage, also spread a bit of compost ea spring.
I water it 1/week with a seeper hose for about 10 mins in this heat.
    It has never been pruned.
    The 2 images were taken Jun17 & Jul 20 /'10
    Thank you in advance.

Yes, it has a problem. Maybe it's bacterial, or maybe even something like borers...could be related to the dull and damp spring we had this year.

Thank you for your reply. I checked for borers but saw no signs of them.
    Must read up on bacteria.
