Appreciation: Symphyotrichum lateriflorum 'Lady in Black'

    This shrub is in Riley Park between the parking area for the winter farmers' market and the market, so has been planted here, but I'm not sure by whom. I was going to post this for ID, had figured out that it was in the Asteraceae family, was looking at something with similar flowers but not a shrub. And then, I discovered in looking at the photos that some kind soul had labelled the plant! The labelling is not Parks Board work; I'm not sure if this is a community planting or what. The label at the ground in the first photo says Aster 'Lady in Black'. A query on that came up with Symphyotrichum lateriflorum 'Lady in Black'.
