This weekend I planted this Sylvester palm in my front yard. So I have 2 questions about it:

    1. Should I wait to fertilize the rest of the yard until the "stress" of planting this tree has worn off?

    2. Would I have been ok planting one of my first 2 choices? (a Cuban Royal or a Christmas Palm) I was persuaded to stay away from a Cuban Royal or a Christmas Palm because I was told that in central Florida, it was a major risk to plant a young one (because of our winters appearing to get colder).

    Thoughts?

Florida Royal Palm (Roystonea elata) would be a better bet.
