I'm pretty sure Sweet Woodruff is in this pic. What is the other plant, same growth habitat, fall blooming yellow flower (Kaiserslautern, Germany...btw: is there a 'zone' designation in Germany similar to that in the US?)
Yellow flower looks like Sanvitalia sp. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=s...s.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSanvitalia;2304;1728 However, I cannot see any sweet woodruff in your pic. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=g...a=X&ei=NWY1VMygKIm6ygOUzIHwDQ&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ The other plant looks like a shrub, a Rhododendron..one normally called Azalea.
According to this article, this plant is wrongly identified in the trade and is more likely to be a Melampodium species or hybrid than a Sanvitalia.
Thanks Axel. Most interesting ..but to a complete amateur I found it a bit confusing. This very cute yellow flower, with very neat small dark green leaves can be found all over UK . It is especially popular in pots and in hanging baskets. The flowers are prolific, very small and rather distinctive in having a green centre. In Britain they are sold as Sanvitalia "Aztec Gold." http://www.dobies.co.uk/Garden/Flow...owers/Sanvitalia+Aztec+Gold+Plants_454351.htm http://janelanenursery.co.uk/store/...vitalia/sanvitalia-aztec-gold-creeping-zinnia So correctly it should be called Melampodium Aztec Gold.
