Has anyone tried growing sweet cherry trees on Vancouver Island? If so what varieties have griwn and produced for you? What rootstock are the variety grafted to?
Prunus avium is actually a woodland and field weed in the Salish Sea area. So, it definitely grows here. That said, disease and pest issues are typical among intentional plantings. Including birds, which strip the trees of fruits when not excluded by netting. Cherry | Hortsense | Washington State University (wsu.edu)
