    Hello,
I've attached two pictures. The close up is slightly blurry. My apologies.

I do not know what this plant is, but I've had it for quite a while. It is the center plant in the window. Recently the newly grown middle "leaf" has began "sweating" (as I call it) at the base and it is marking/scarring the plant. The liquid is clear, gel like consistency, and slightly sticky.

Since I do not know what this plant is, and I've never found it in a houseplant book or on the internet, I do not know if this is normal or not and I do not know what, if anything I should do about it.

Anyone have suggestions, please share. Thanks so much.
    Tara

Maybe its "guttation", compare on the net to see if symptoms are the same.

Sticky sap will leak from this plant. I have one of my own and it does the same. Sometimes the sap will discolor with time and turn an amber or light brown color. I have no idea of why it does this. The plant seems perfectly healthy.

Thank you so much! I was worried my plant was rotting or something. :-( I appreciate the website too. Good to know what it is.
