I've noticed that several of my Japanese maples have "guests" this winter. These eggs remind me of small cantaloupe seeds, though they are more of a grayish-brown color. I would pick them off, but we had a Praying Mantis hangin' out by the patio where all of these maples were located last fall. If they're from a good guy, I'd just as soon leave them alone. Does anyone know what they might be? Thanks, Bryan
Praying mantis eggs (on the east coast) are usually in mass in a hard egg case. These don't look like that....
I agree, I'll seen praying mantis egg cases and that isn't oe of them. If no one identifies it I would take them off, or you could put one in a jar and leave it outside in a shady spot and see what comes out.
