Last year I purchased a summer snowflake viburnum and planted in a pot facing the south. This one lost leaves last fall and new leaves have been very sparsely(not densely) produced so far this year. It does not bear any flowers yet.

    Does anyone have any comments?

    Thanks in advance.

What kind of soil mix is it in? If it's tropical and has very fine particles, it's probably suffocating, and if it's potting soil the (usual) peat is probably holding water too long. You need to get a lot of small (aquarium) gravel in the mix, a little bark mulch (smallish pieces) and soil without peat in there, so it drains very quickly when watered (hope the container has a large drain hole). Don't let it sit in drain water either or roots will rot, and water when it's needed, not if the soil is still soggy from the last time but when the top inch or few inches (don't know how large your pot is) are dry.

    Hi Rima,
Thank you so much your email.

The soil mix is as follows:
    90% potting soil
    10% small gravel

My pot is very large for the size of the plant and it has a big drain hole. Starting for the month of June, I have watered it every day.
