So, I made a mistake years back and planted two silver maples 10' apart under overhead wires. Thinking I could contain them. Which i have done . Topping them at 15' , and then going back and pruning to the laterals , Best that i can . For two years now. With time and reading I realize what I am doing is not going to work long term. And I think other trees are much more suited for the location. So I would like to plant two more trees 5' feet from the originals . slowly I will remove them over 2 years. I could use suggestions for trees that grow relatively quicker, Are beautiful , Get no taller than 30' , I could start the bottom of the canopy at 7' and I can sit at the base of the trunk. So not buggy nor messy. My hope is for a complete canopy between the two at 15' in three to four years? For they could provide shade for more jm's . I realize the roots will be close to the silver maple , but i think i can remove enough of them if need be. A nice place to meditate. Thanks , still havin fun,,,,,, Bob, Oh yes, Zone 5. full sun
