I got some seeds from the sugar maples in my backyard. They don't do very good in the summer but they do great in the winter. I got a seed from the wing and pulled the seed out and noticed there was a little green part on the side of it and planted it and watered it lightly. Next I looked at the seed 3 days after and started growing. Does this seed really need germinating? I growed a spruce from a tiny seed and started to grow with out germinating.Did these were already germinating? My maple should be up in 1 week or 6 days.I don't think some seeds dont need germinating.

I think maybe you have the term germinating confused with another term or process?

Okay maybe they do need germinanting. I just grow them in pots and the grow well.My spruces growed well.Im wrong them about the last thing I said on the other post. These seeds I have are already germinated. The keys are a very light brown And are old ones that been on the ground.

Sugar maples need long very cold (below freezing for wks) winters, so I doubt that you'll have much luck.
