I am looking for the name of a plant my Grandma used to own. She always referred to it as a spider plant. The green part of the plant looked very similar to a spider plant but growing around the base of the plant was long hairy legs(looked like tarantula legs they were grey and black) Hope somebody can help.
We grow a fern that has roots that overflow the pot just like spiders legs. It is called Arachnoides simplicior. However the leaves are nothing like Chlorophytum comosum .... spider plant. So this may be way off what you are looking for. http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&um=1&q=Arachniodes simplicior&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
Brilliant Lila. I have been trying to find pic/ notes on the root of the Arachnoides one with no joy.I tried your Davallia and immediatly found a pic. Thank you!!!! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...rqnsBw&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=2&ct=image I wouldn't mind betting that ours is Davallia and was misnamed when we bought it! It happens all the time.
