    Hello all,

    Newbie here.

One of my small indoor plants developed some extraordinary upward sun-seeking leaves on thick stalks, but I have no idea what the plant is (image attached). The leaves are very large, green, sort of waxy/rubbery to touch, and triangular in shape with what looks like white paint flecks on them.

I don't know if the leaves are a part of the original plant that is still in the plant-pot or not ?

Can anyone ID the leaves for me please ? Is it something the small plant produced ?

    Thank you kindly.

    Teresa.

    Welcome to the Forum!

You have two different plants happening here. Tall one appears to be an aroid cohabiting with a...sansevieria?
Fear not: our intrepid members will have these IDed for you soon.

Looks like Zantedeschia sp., perhaps Z. albomaculata or a related hybrid.

Ha! When I saw this photo I thought Wow, that looks JUST like the yellow calla my daughter got me...the day before! Lovely spotted leaves. Then I allowed Doubt to creep in (usually a poor plan) and thought Oh well it couldn't possibly be a calla. When will I ever learn?

Perhaps never, unless you are a small child.

Looks a little drawn up, you might want to summer it outside.

Ditto the kalanchoe (?) beside it.

Your curtains are quite nice, TJH! Convallaria majalis, maybe. ? Kinda vine-y but I ascribe that to artistic license.

Have been mulling over my ID of your calla's pot-mate...was not content with this from the start. Came down on the sansevieria side because of the stripiness and seeming flatness of the leaves...but those look like enthusiastic ALOE babies to me. So I now say Aloe.

Hi again, just as a footnote to my original query I submit these pictures of what seems to be some kind of flower from this plant - just shot up unannounced !

Don't know if this helps absolute ID ?

    Thanks again.

Your 'Schwarzwalder' Calla Lily is beautiful!

I agree with togata57 that the plant in the other pot in the first set of pictures looks like Kalanchoe.

The small plant growing in the pot together with Zantedeschia in the first set of pictures reminds me of Hawortia.

I agree. The smaller plant below the beautiful Calla lily is Hawortia
