Thanks to Shirley Willard for picking me up on the street and taking me to see the 'Accolade' flowers on the trees at Chilco mini-park in the West End. It turns out that 'Autumnalis Rosea' and 'Whitcomb' have some flowers as well, on some but not all trees. You wouldn't say the trees are "in bloom", but there are definitely some flowers to look at. Actually, I'm trying to decide if I should show the 'Autumnalis Rosea' as being in bloom on the map. We posted some photos in the West End Neighbourhood Blog at West End / Stanley Park | UBC Botanical Garden Forums.

The earliest I can see any mention of 'Autumnalis Rosea' is December 20, 2009, when they were in full bloom at Pacific Heights Co-op. And I see I mentioned that the other two early ones had some flowers in December one year. We've never mentioned seeing any of these here in October.
