Identification: strange thing growing in our yard

    Need Help In Identifying This Growth In Our Yard.it Is A Very Fragile White Tube That Is About 3 Inches Long That Turns Pink Towards The Tapered Tip. The Tip Itself Is Brown And Appears To Have Been Dipped In Chocolate Pudding That Smells Rather Like Canine Leavings. I Am Not Sure If It Is Fungus But Is Growing In Cool Area On The Edge Of The Lawn.thanks Very Much--doug

    Maybe Mutinus caninus. Named from its resemblance to a male dog's err, errr....
