Hello. I am new to this forum and hope someone can help me identify this plant and how to care for it. I know it is in the cactus family because it used to be in a cactus arrangement, and it was very small. The rest of the plants have since died off (this is going back at least 7 years now!) but this one survived. It has gotten very 'leggy'. Does anyone know what is it, and how I can repot it, or seperate it into more than one plant? Thanks in advance!
Huernia I believe. http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/HU...ta/Huernia_trasmutata/huernia_transmutata.htm
Wow that looks very similar but don't think it's exactly the same. I never saw flowers like that on it, and it has small green leaves sometimes. Maybe it's in the same family... I appreciate the link. Gave me some ideas on what I can do with it. Thanks!
Do you think I could break a piece off and start a new plant? Or would that do more damage than good?
Definitely not a cactus. Just a thought: could it be some kind of Euphorbia? My knowledge about that genus is rudimentary, but I have seen Euphorbia with similar protrusions on the stem, for example caput-medusae and arida.
