I discovered this stink bug cleverly camoflaged on my Hydrangea. Is it considered to be a pest? Oct30,2007 018.jpg

When I was a kid my great uncle was the State of Hawaii Chief Entomologist and had a whole lab full of thousands of the things because they were trying to find out how to get rid of them - so yes, it can definitely be considered a pest. However, in this region it is not usual to see them in quantity in home gardens. I only see solitary individuals on occasion, as you have done - never them covering a plant and spoiling it.
