My eighty-six year old father adores one of my blue spruces and says I can start a new one from a cutting. Once an avid landscaper, he doesn't remember exactly how to do it but says he thinks it involves rooting it in wet sand. I would love to start several for family members, in honor of my father. Does anyone know how to do it?

Not totally impossible, but very, very difficult. How much equipment (greenhouse, undersoil heating cables, hormones, etc.) do you have available?
