I lost a fig tree to ground worms this summer, and my boss just gave me clippings from her fig tree. Her advice was, "Just stick them in the ground, water them, and they will grow. We Live in Zone 9 in Laredo, TX (on the border of Mexico), so warmth and sun are easy to come by, even in November. But is she correct? I have them in a pot after soaking them for a day in a vase, so that I could get to the boards and see what the wise folks here tell me.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may offer.
