For years I have been using Dutch Treat Starter Mix for my indoor cuttings and seeds, and have not found anything else that worked as well. Does anyone know if it's still available and where I might find it? I live on Vancouver Island, but I go to Vancouver frequently.

Or does anyone have another favourite? I recently tried Island's Finest Starter Mix, but it retains moisture too much compared to the Dutch Treat version.

    Thanks for your help!

This comes almost three years late, hope the info is still helpful. Recently (within the last three weeks) I found Dutch Treat starting mix available in a 10L bag at Figaro's Garden (1896 Victoria Drive in East Vancouver), the price is $9.99. I also saw them at Art Knapp Plantland (7780 Alderbridge Way in Richmond). They are available in 25L bags for $12.99. The 25L Dutch Treat potting soil at Art Knapp costs $10.99. And Art Knapp has senior discount on Wednesdays.

I use Pro Mix, which is usually available by the bale at Canadian Tire (and other garden centers) in the Spring. I add more perlite to the base mix, but otherwise it's excellent for a range of seeds.
