Can anyone identify these strange vines? I found them while bushwhacking through cascade blackberry and reed canarygrass to do some geology on a river bank in Issaquah, near seattle. Born and raised in the pacific NW, and I have never seen their ilk! Vines are climbing, up to 8m up in trees and blackberry. compete well with invasives...

In Seattle area "The plant occurs at Lake Sammamish Park, along the Cedar and Duwamish Rivers (as at Fort Dent Park), and various places on Vashon Island. Little is wild within Seattle's city limits, as on Marine View Dr. SW, just north of 46th Ave. SW." (Jacobson, Wild Plants of Greater Seattle)
