I have a staghorn growing on a tree and it is about three feet across. It has always been lovely, but recently I have noticed a beige or yellowish discoloration towards the end of the leaves. Could this be some sort of scale. Does anyone have any suggestions? This was given to me by an aunt that has passed and I treasure it.

Depends on whether it's on the top or bottom of the frond. Could be spore forming (which takes *FOR EVER* with these bloody things). Barring that, could be a change in sunlight if you've lost many or any branches on the tree it's in, may be responding to watering differences, or it could just be old fronds browning off...
