You didn't mention the lovely late Spring frosts that kills all the tender new buds that are opening. It's definitely not maple utopia here in England.

These two this morning showed a lot of promise that Spring is just around the corner. Acer flabellatum. var yunnanense and Acer elegantulum

Particularly pleased to see Black Lace coming out so beautifully after the poor state that it arrived in last year.

This one is from a batch of "mixed seeds" I got a few years ago. I labelled it "Acer pseudosieboldianum" because I have an A. p. ssp. takesimense and it's the closest ID I could find, but perhaps it's misnamed. What do you think?

It was one of the earliest of all my maples this year :

Naguri Nishiki with a surprising amount of variegation for here in Austin. This is my first year with it. I hope it lasts.

More early Spring action, now that the solstice has arrived at last!

Flowers on A. triflorum, as always far up the tree.

Not a maple, but everyone should grow Stachyurus praecox. Just getting established for us.

Dipteronia sinensis, or as I like to call it, Acer deilsii. It is reputed easy to grow, but has not proved so for us. Anyway it's still alive for now! I killed an earlier one.

Thanks to all posting here for the tantalizing previews of what we have yet to experience here where I live in BC. You're away ahead of us!

I thought Spring would never get here. Daffodils are blooming but only two maples are close to leafing out.

I have this one from seed, 3 yr-old I think. I don't know what it is, the branches grow at almost 90° from the trunk, and the leaves and the internodes are very small. From a 'Hime' of some sort maybe ?
And aphids love this one too...

My winter grafts seem to doing well at this point. The grafts are from two beautiful unlabeled trees at a park that I visit often. They were planted in 1985. The fall colors are amazing.
One is about 7ft and the other is about 15ft. The one that's 15ft isn't doing so well. If all 3 grafts take, do well, I will happily donate one to replaced it.

Not a great deal of action here..

I’ll have to start moving them out of their winter protection spots..might wait a bit in case there are frosts in the coming weeks
