Kathy Id be interested in a black krim and a cherokee purple, as well as the rare bianco eggplant or any other. I can offer a tall moskavitch and a south american banana tomato. Also wouldnt mind trying a bells of ireland.

Vincent I think you were referring to my post.
I'll bring a BK, CP, and Bianco eggplant for you. I started some BofI but germination apparently is erratic so I'll bring the pot anyway etiher way. I don't need anymore tomato's but I'd like a couple of Wenlock cuttings and a division of tall stemmed grape leaf anemone if you still have it available.

    Thanks, Karen.

    Hi All,

I don't have much to trade this year but I have some dahlias I can trade if you guys are willing to divide them. Can't say I will know what an "eye" looks like if it was staring at me.

Lily: are you coming this year? I have your red currant bush still.

Katherine: Do you know if this is a good time to divide iris? I would like your white iris if it's still available. I have the spotted leaf geranium from fall. I also have the Aporophyllum that someone gave me (was it Heather) last year. It's divided and I think I had promise you and Tania some. I didn't bring it indoor though so it's a bit frost bitten but it should be fine.

Do we know who's coming for sure? And what time and what's address?

So far, I'm coming with Cecelia, Sophie and another friend of mine, Adeline (and maybe her mom).

    Thanks!

    Helen

    Hi Helen,

The date is April 22 and the time 11AM. Contact me at the email address attached to my profile here (in case you've lost it) and I'll give you the address.

I also have a lot of small (emphasis) seedlings of Potentilla "Melton Fire" and stipa tenussima if anyone is interested.

I have some unwanted hybrid tea roses if anyone is interested. Otherwise it's going to the City's compost.... 3 Queen Elizabeth and a few others that I can't remember the name but can look up if someone is interested.

Does anyone know Erka's email address? She gave me a dahlia last fall and I didn't give her anything. Would like to know if she's coming and what she would like.

    Thanks!

    Hi Helen,

If there are no takers for your QE roses I could plant them in my parent's yard. They'd like the HT. Is there anything of mine that may interest you?

    Karen.

    Hi all:

Sorry I haven't posted yet. Have a lot going on.

    Plants I have to trade

    - Acer macrophyllum (Broadleaf maple, Bigleaf maple) - I have 1-2' seedlings in pots.
    - Achlys triphylla (Vanilla Leaf plant) - have rhizomes
    - Athyrium filix femina (Lady Fern) - have small plants
    - Brugmansia - yellow - very fragrant - Have small rooted cuttings.
    - Buddleja (Butterfly Bush) - a medium purple with blue tints - Have rooted cuttings
    - Buddleja 'Black Knight' (Butterfly Bush) - can take cuttings - they root very easily
    - Carex Pendula - ornamental evergreen grass. These get huge in a few years. Have small ones.
    - Chelidonium majus flore pleno (Double Greater Celadine) - loves dry shade
    - Dicentra Formosa ( Pacific bleeding heart)
    - Hesperis matronalis (Sweet rocket) - lilac or white - fragrant
    - Hypericum androsaemum (Tutsan) - Have very small ones
    - Ipomoea acuminata 'Blue Dawn' (Blue Dawn Morning Glory) - take inside in winter - Have rooted cuttings
    - Lamiastrum galeobdolon (syn. Lamium galeobdolon) (Yellow archangel) - variegated green & silver leaves, yellow flowers, good in shade. Can be very invasive if planted in the ground. I only recommend it for hanging pots if you live on a shady property.

    - Lonicera (Honeysuckle) - vine - large yellow/white extremely fragrant flowers, blooms at our place from june until frost in october. Grows rampantly, will become invasive if you let the vines settle on the ground. I recommend you not grow it on or near a high tree (you'll never reach or smell the flowers). Worth growing for the screen it provides (if on a trellis) and the heavenly fragrance of the flowers, as well as the numerous hummingbirds it attracts and, if partially shaded, the long blooming season.

    - Lysimachia ciliata - a dark-purple-leafed one, either 'purpurea' or 'firecracker', not sure which
    - Maianthemum dilatatum (False Lily of the Valley)
    - Meconopsis Cambrica (Welch Poppy) - orange or yellow
    - Myrrhis odorata (Sweet Cicely)
    - Pelargonium 'Vancouver Centennial' - take inside for winter - Have rooted cuttings
    - Persicaria bistorta
    - Plumbago capensis (syn. Plumbago auriculata) - Have small rooted cuttings
    - Polypodium glycyrrhiza (Licorice fern) - small fern with 1 or 2 fronds. shade or shade with dappled sun - easy to grow in shade on mossy logs or mossy tree branches, horizontally or vertically. Very cool looking. Might go dormant in a hot summer but will come back when it gets wet and cool in fall.

    - Polystichum munitum (Western sword fern) - evergreen. Have small ones.
    - Sisymbrium luteum (Hesperis lutea)
    - Strobilanthes dyerianus (Persian Shield) - has to be taken inside for winter - Have small plants.
    - Vaccinium parvifolium (Red Huckleberry) - Have small plant
    - Vinca minor (Periwinkle) - bluish flowers, everygreen, likes dry shade, starts blooming in March

Although I've done a lot of winter-sowing most of my seedlings won't be ready to trade until the fall swap.
The list below is what I have so far for the Spring Swap and I'll likely add to it before the 22nd.

    Winter-sown seedlings ready to go

    - Adenophora 'Amethyst'
    - Adenophora - Ladybells
    - Adenophora confusa
    - Adenophora potaninii
    - Adenophora triphylla
    - Aruncus sinensis
    - Buddleja 'Empire Blue'
    - Calandrina ciliata
    - Campanula alliariifolia
    - Campanula glomerata
    - Campanula persicifolia grandiflora alba
    - Campanula pyramidalis
    - Campanula rapunculoides
    - Campanula rotundifolia
    - Campanula tachesemense
    - Corydalis sempervirens
    - Delphnium Pacific Giants - colours unknown

See anything you'd like to have?

    Cheers, J J

Well, the last few days have been nice in terms of germinations, but do remember that most of them are still nothing but wee seedlings, and usually not many of each:

    Allium carinatum (ssp. pulchellum?)
    Allium giganteum
    Allium schoenoprasum (?)
    Allium turcomanicum
    Anemonopsis macrophylla
Digitalis (I suspect the standard purpurea pink)
Erythronium oregonum (shouldn't be moved from its container for another year or two)
(wasn't supposed to germinate until next year!)
    Penstemon barbatus (?) (dark pink)
    Penstemon californicus (one or two)
Penstemon euglacus (can't find any online reference, but can confirm species exists - all I have is "blue, to 20, zone 5-8, origin: Oregon and Washington", ex UBC Botanical seeds)
    Penstemon gormanii
    Penstemon ovatus (one or two)
    Salvia roemeriana (one or two)
Trillium grandiflorum (shouldn't be moved for another couple of years from its container)

I didn't just sow alliums and penstemons, but the others are being lazy this year, germinating in only ones or twos, or haven't germinated at all! Groan. I also have a few other odds and ends, I need to sort out that I can bring, as well as ones I thought were dead, so I lost their identities. Oh, well.

Helen: Thanks for the rose. I'd like to give hydrangea cutting a try. Pot with hosta that did not get to the fall swap has 4 yeas in it- we can divide it :-)

BCGift: could I have Codonopsis grey-wilsonii insted of Lewisia-got seeds as replasment package and they just germinated

Helen - thank you - it's going 'under the trees'.

Magua - Would like anemonopsis macrophylla and Erythronium oregonum. Would you like some more of those plants for space challenged gardeners ?

    Barvinok - C.grey-wilsonii okay.

    Helen, sounds good.

Regarding your list of veggie and herb wants I do have some leftover dill seeds that I can give you. They grow sow easily when direct sowed outside.

Basils I actually have the purple leaved basil, genovese, and thai seeds but haven't sowed them yet - will probably this weekend but I don't think they'll germinate in time. Do you want some seeds or just sown pots at all?

Sunflowers - also seeds as it's a little early to sow - teddy bear, great russian giants, & velvet queen.

Also, have 4 o'clock seeds if you want some. They bloom all summer and grow really quickly from seed in late spring - when weather warms up more.

All commercial seeds except for the Great Russians, and genovese basils (I collected seeds from own plant).

Anyway, I can share some seeds from each pkg if anyone wants.

I think I also have bronze fennel seeds.

BCgift and Katherine the Fish peppers took forever to germinate - but 2 have just this weekend so they will be small babies - just an fyi.

    k.

I also have some rooted cuttings of some more shrubs: Loropetalum chinense - red leaves, hot pink flowers - and of Leycesteria formosa, and a pot of Filipendula rubra, a tall pink-flowering perennial that likes to wander a bit. Others mentioned upthread already were Dichroa febrifuga and Hydrangea quercifolia, and I think I mentioned earlier that I have a good-sized Viburnum Pink Dawn looking for a home.

I also have some divisions of Primula Sue Jervis, on the principle that pink primulas growing under a pink flowering cherry are not as effective as one would like, and should be replaced with something else.

Also, it turns out I have tons of Ranunculus ficaria Brazen Hussy, a bronze-leaved summer-dormant yellow-flowering little plant.
