12th April 2005 Now that the weather is warmer, the cliffs above Lee Bay, (Pender Harbour BC) are starting to wake up. Among the first flowers to appear are yellow mimulus but I also noticed an early Indian Paintbrush (last picture). The sedum is looking remarkably healthy considering the long, dry spell we have had. It will be a while before the wild heuchara gets going, but last year's leaves look interesting illuminated by the late afternoon sun. A lonely flowering current survives in a most challenging place, and keeps coming back year after year.
