    Hi There,

I have been calling around plant suppliers/ garden centers in Vancouver and so far have not found anyone that carries Pacific Wax Myrtle.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

They don't "carry" it as in never, or they don't have any in stock right now? Are you calling independent garden centers, with full product lines during the peak season, or big box plant departments that offer a small percentage of the variety selection of independents?

To be honest I have only contacted two places so far about Pacific Wax Myrtle. One is a local tree, shrub & soil supplier that is near me in Burnaby, BC. They are not a wholesaler or part of a garden store chain, sort of in between, they had never heard of it?!! The other was a very popular local gardening center (part of a chain). Their buyer knew the species but said they have never carried it. He looked up his plant order list from the Oregon nurseries they order from and said it wasn't available from them (don't know how many different nurseries they deal with there).

There are of course lots of nurseries in the surrounding areas I can try but so far things do not look promising.

Not listed by wholesale sources participating in BCNLA online Plant Finder but if retail outlets in SW BC are ordering regularly from Oregon there should be multiple options. Searching the OAN Buyer's Guide online version returns 15 sources. Maybe you can connect with a local buyer at an independent garden center and prompt them to order some in.

Species was displayed in native garden at UBCBG for years and may still be growing there.
