Has anybody seen anything like this before? I don't think it's poison ivy because the center leaf is not longer than the outer leaves. Also - although the picture may look like this is two vines, it is actually only one. The baby leaves look like grape leaves.

Ian, my first impression is boston ivy, parthenocissus tricuspidata. Does it cling to walls, or twine around things like morning glory?

    Glen,

Last year it grew on our picket fence and I assumed it was a wild grape. But then, last weekend, I noticed the clusters of three leaves. I pulled it out before I realized it might be poison ivy. The vine was pretty firmly attached to the ground. It also seems to have the spiral air roots (if that's the right term) that grapes have.

I would say by the feel when pulling it off that it is clinging, not twining.

    Jimmy,

Not that I recall, but it's under a cottonwood tree so maybe I just didn't see it?
