Sorbus alnifolia

Discussion in 'Woody Plants' started by Unregistered, Dec 20, 2005.

  1. I purchased this tree several years ago after reading numerous recommendations, especially with respect to fall color. To date fall color has been disappointing to say the least, and I am considering replacing it with another sorbus species or two. I am looking for trees with good fall color and interesting berry color. I was considering 'Joseph Rock', but I read it is especially prone to fire blight. Any Ideas?

Autumn color yellow. Borers a problem in some areas, this species resistant. Saw some street trees in Mount Vernon, WA this year that were fruiting heavily, visible from blocks away. Where are you located?
