I purchased 2 Song of India plants last year and planting them in my garden. I was cutting all the dead leaves away this spring and noticed that they were still very firm in the ground and could'nt pull them up so I left them alone and know I have new shoots coming up. I live in Memphis TN. so I thought this odd that they survived the winter. Any suggestions on why this occured.

    Thanks Brian

I don't know what your winter temps are, 30s-40s??? Your plant must be cold hardy. Lucky you!
I wish I could plant one of these in the ground ouitdoors here, but it's way too cold I'm sure for it to survive. One time it went down to 20 below!
