I am attaching some pictures from Italy. It will be great if someone can identify these plants. I am looking more for the common names, but the official identifications are welcomed as well. All pictures were taken in August. The pink flower was found on a tree (4-5 meters high) in Verona, Italy. The yellow flower was found in the province of Cuneo of Italy, next to a stream in relatively mountainous region. The entire plant was about 8 inches (20 cm) tall. I would also like to know if it is one that traps insects. The grain was found in Tuscany. Thank you.
Wow, you guys are quick. Thank you. Common name for the pink flower (#1): persian silk tree. The grain does seem to be a variety of sorghum. I am not sure about the Pedicularis, because the leaves I've seen in pictures of Pedicularis are different. Here's a larger size picture of the last one.
Those seen here usually have pink flowers. I've almost never seen a number of them in one spot, mostly just one to several.
There was only this one in the area where I was. From what I've found on the internet, the one in my picture also has one of the largest cluster of flowers. I've come across mentions of colours other than pink, but not many. Most pictures I've seen are pink/mauve, and some white with pink/mauve. (This one was found in Italy.)
