This decorative plant with hairy-looking style (or hairy upper lip?) is from my friend in Orillia, Ontario. I checked among local wild Lamiaceae but could not find a match. Anyone recognizes this flower?
It is Salvia, indeed! No leaves, sorry (though there is a bumble bee!), but looks very much alike Salvia farinacea: http://starrenvironmental.com/images/image/?q=070906-8642&o=plants http://www.californiagardens.com/images/Salvia_farinacea_victoria_c.jpg Thanks, saltcedar!
