Solved: Lathyrus latifolius

    This plant is scattered throughout Snake Lake Park (in Tacoma) in areas that are populated mostly by native plants. Anyone recognize this as a distinct species or is it more likely some kind of cultivar that escaped from someone's garden?

    Lathyrus latifolius. A European species commonly naturalized in our area.

    It sure is. I thought that looked like a pea vine but the flower looks so much like an orchid. Really fooled me. Thank you!
