    Hello everyone.

New to me this seedling season is a CityGreen (now defunct?) seedling starter moveable light fixture (4x T12 48" bulbs) and a 2" soil blocker.

The soil blocker is the real mystery for me as I've never used it before.
I was perusing the online recipes for soil blocker mixtures and wanted to get opinions on a modified mix which I'm curious about, as typical recipe items are not readily available in my area. The typical additives seem to be based on peat, lime (to counteract acidity of peat), compost, sand, rockdust, and a plethora of fertilizer additives, bone meal, blood-meal, kelp meal... Anyhow, I'm just wondering if anyone can find fault in a recipe containing only:

    Coco husk/fiber
    black earth
    worm castings
    perlite

    Thanks!

Just a heads up, this recipe worked really well...(as far as I can tell 4 days in).
50% ground coco husk, 30% black earth, 20% worm castings. I didn't measure out the perlite but you add it in gradually until you can see a few pieces in every hand-full. The volume of water is more critical...consistency of mortar, but not sopping wet worked well.
