Grief, where d'you get all that from?? I'm a long way north of you, and haven't had any here - just a sleet shower that didn't settle at all. What altitude are you at?
Ah Michael You haven't lived We got our first snow here on Tuesday and it lay until the next day. It disappeared today when we got some sunshine for a change, but it is still bitterly cold I am surprised that you haven't had any. Where exactly are you? Surely England got quite a lot? Emery ... pics one and five are quite attractive .....
Michael, we're at 350m, near the highest point in Normandie. (In fact the Beacon d'Ecouves is just on the next big crest over). We often get snow when there's rain elsewhere, but this is a little early none the less. The snow is here until at least tomorrow... Thanks Sam, sorry I forgot to put the plants in. 1. Villa Taranto 2. beurgerianum Hime Kaede 3. Sango kaku 4. Seiryu 5. Nandina domestica 6. truncatum Akikaze nishiki 7. unknown fuschia (perennial here) Bof. Don't like snow much. -E
350m altitude would explain it, I guess! I'm at just 40m altitude, and not too far from the North Sea coast in Northumbs, so get quite a bit of warmth from the sea when it is colder further inland.
Gosh!, you guys are well ahead. My maples are still 90% green and some are so happy that has been raining a lot lately that they have put up some new growth!! Gomero
The majority of us are located in north hemisphere, but really, looking at this tread make me think how different conditions we are dealing right now! Here we had have nice, sunny, dry days and mild temperatures (70s-80s). About half of my maples are behaving like spring time! Others got new leaves but instead of the usual greenish, they show autumn colors! As explanation, I just can say that most of them are recent additions (They came from much more northern latitudes), so probably the poor guys are asking "What the heck is going on with this weather"? Pretty weird.... Nelran
