Snow kitten or Yuki yama?

    not in stock for the moment in EU (or if some know one EU source with this maple in stock,please let me know)
    are the same maple? or different cultivar?

    I believe it's 'Snow Kitten' Alex.

    The correct name is 'Snow Kitten'. Yuki yama is a replacement name from Buchholtz, who didn't like the name of the cultivar, considering it not a good commercial prospect. So he sold it under a different name, but the introduction name is still the correct one. Like it or not, someone's granddaughter chose the name Snow Kitten, and so that's what the real name is! :)

    Found by Larry Stanley and named by Fred's Hooks granddaughter. Released in 2010.

    Is anyone growing it. Was tempted to grab one this year but in all my readings, it's HTG. I believe one person killed all 3 of theirs..so I skipped it

    Yes, no, maybe. I mean everything I've read was that it was HTG as a general guide re: Snow Kitten

    I was only tempted to get it as I like all things variegated and it just so happened that it's also very HTF, and the nursery had one.

    Understood, I like it aswell, so let's see what others write about it over the coming year and then consider placing it on the buyer beware thread.
