I have a problem in my red mulch covered garden which involves a smelly white fungus. We've had a lot of rain over the past few months and this fungus only recently appeared within the past 3 or 4 weeks. I removed much of the affected mulch and replaced with new red mulch about 2 weeks ago. Today I noticed the fungus is on the new mulch as well. Is there a fix for this smelly stuff? I'm wondering if some sort of fungicide might be available for this problem? Please advise.

    Thanks

A photo would be helpful if you can.

So it is something white, flatly covering the top of the mulch, with no structures coming up from it, eg. a cap & stem mushrooms or other shapes? Is it featureless and fuzzy or does it have a lattice-work pattern or small matchstick shapes?

    cheers
