Hey there, I have a cutting of a bushy plant that has very small but extraordinarily fragrant flowers, that curl like a fern. The fragrance is very sweet and can be smelled from some distance. The leaves are quite bristle but to me slightly resemble mint; the leaves have no scent at all. I've attached some photos, any help in identifying it would be most helpful!
It's a heliotrope, but perhaps not the common Heliotropium arborescens that's so common in Auckland. The curled flower stems and the flower colour suggest Heliotropium indicum. That said, H. arborescens is pretty variable and its flower stems do curl somewhat. So given the leaf, which isn't quite right for H. indicum, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a rather extreme form of H. arborescens or perhaps a hybrid.
