In The Garden: Small red apples?

    I have a small tree that is loaded with what looks like small red apples. Last year there were none, except for a few hard, shrivelled fruits from the previous year. They are rather bitter. Do you know what they are?

    Yes, a crabapple. They make good jam / jelly, but not edible raw.

    Wow that's a lot of fruit for one tree. Looks like good size crab apples too.
