I photographed this tiny purple flower during the last of July in the Bristol Bay area of southwest Alaska, but can't find any mention of it in wildflower books on searching online for Alaska wildflowers. Can someone please identify it for me?
Epilobium sp. Not sure what species. Some arctic species are practically not represented by any images on the web.
You've put me on the right track, Andrey, I think it's Bog Willow-herb (Epilobium leptophyllum). Thanks
Why would you rule out Bog Willow-herb (Epilobium leptophyllum)? Take a look at: http://www.mdidea.com/products/new/new09303.html The flower shape and color match as well as the shape of the leaves.
None of the images are of E. leptophyllum. The true E. leptophyllum looks like this: http://www.kgnaturephotography.com/...ilobium-leptophyllum-~-bog-willow-herb-1.html
