Small flowers

    These small maybe wild flowers near entrance to the UBC BG(Gate). I took this picture on May 2, but noticed them again last week.

    Boraginaceae, I would never find it. Thank you. Is this small wild flowers with spots on petals near food garden Nemophila too?

    Now I'm thinking listings of 'Penny Black' under N. menziesii might be erroneous, that it actually belongs to N. maculata. Possibly a quick check would produce confirmation of this by another source.

    Yes, Nemophila maculata 'Penny Black'.
    I didn't recognize Nemophila flowers, I hope I can do this in future

    All over the Net 'Penny Black' is listed as Nemophila menziesii, so what is really true: N. menziesii or N. maculata?

    RHS Plant Finder and California's Annie's Annuals both use Nemophila menziesii for this cultivar.
